Golf Project
In this project we studied court cases that had to do with civil rights movement, then we applied the court cases we studied to a mini golf course. The golf course was made of flat wood boards with fake grass glued on top, and thin wood on the sides for a clean finish. My groups court case was Brown V. Board of Education, so all of our obstacles had to do with real obstacles from the court case.
This is my group's golf blueprint. We had a hand drawn version that we used as a guide throughout the project, at the end we made the finalized blue print (as you can see above).
OBSTACLES:
We put the separated water fountain to show segregations at the beginning. We put a book tunnel because books represent education, we put it on the colored side because it was hard for black children to get a good education because their schools were underfunded. We put the school house on the white side to show that white children already had everything they needed and how it wasn't hard for them. We put the protest signs on the white side because white people were the ones who were protesting integration. We made the whole in the middle at the end to show that both races came together eventually.
